GreenH2CY – Grant Agreement

Another major milestone towards the implementation of the GreenH2CY project has been reached with the signing of the Grant Agreement between the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). Whilst the licensing procedures are ongoing, the official project starting date has been set to 01/06/2023.

The GreenH2CY project will produce hydrogen from renewable energy for the transport sector, to re-fuel trucks and replace diesel vehicles. The project includes the installation and operation of a 2 megawatt (MW) Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser, a hydrogen storage facility and a re-fuelling station, in the same location. The estimated figures of absolute GHG emission avoidance over the 10 years’ period is 21,676.644 tCO2e.
